It has come to our attention that some presentation proposals submittedd online failed to reach us. If you submitted a proposal and have not yet revceived an acknowledgement about receipt and scheduling of your proposal, please communicate with Rob Hylton at rhylton@silvergategroup.com and provide a Word file including your proposed title, abstract (no more than 100 words), and biographical sketches for each presenter (no more than 50 words each).

We have been delighted with the overwhelming interest in AP14! We are making adjustments to accommodate as many worthy presentations as we can within our limited poster and concurrent session agenda. Thank you for your patience.

The California Council on Alcohol Policy (Cal Council), a statewide non-profit educational and training corporation, is pleased to sponsor the January 2008 conference, Engaging States and Local Communities in Prevention Policies. This conference will be the 14th in a series of national and regional meetings that have addressed research, policy, and prevention issues related to alcohol. We welcome an anticipated attendance of up to 300 participants to Southern California - community-based practitioners, public officials, and researchers from across the North America and beyond.

Conference Goal and Objectives

This 14th conference in the Alcohol Policy series will explore, develop, and advance public policy approaches to the prevention of alcohol problems in order to promote evidence-based strategies and to bring public focus to the need for alcohol policy reform at all levels. Specific objectives are to:
